The new station at Ainsdale will be complete at the end of March 2018. However from Saturday 24th February 2018 work will commence to enhance the platforms at the station in readiness for the introduction of the new fleet.
All these works will be out of hours from 00:30am until 05:00am meaning no disruption to the day to day operation of the station or network. Works will begin on the Liverpool bound side of the station and are expected to take a 4 week period for completion.
This decision has been made to minimise disruption to rail users and local residents with one block of work rather than several more disruptive periods of work.
These platform interface works will be carried out on many of our stations to improve accessibility for all passengers with the introduction of the new fleet. Our new fleet will have a sliding step which offers unassisted access for all. This will make Merseyrail the most accessible traditional network in the UK, and people in wheelchairs or with pushchairs and luggage will be able to get on and off without assistance.

Someone suggested a bricklayer doing government work is costed at _ £ 400 per day I use a quality bricklayer and he asks
£110 per day , I pay him £125. I clean up after he's gone.

There is a big difference in costs with employing one-man bands than employing a company, as a company has lots of overheads. If you are paying £ 15 an hour, he/she probably isn’t paying tax, national insurance, pension contributions, holiday pay, ssp - never mind not having office staff to pay towards, Health and Safety compliance costs or Public and Employer Liability Insurance. You also have to have contractors who can be accountable and will correct any faults that occur.

So you're paying him more than he asks and you're still cleaning up after him. You're paying him an extra £15 to do nothing.
