Merseyside Police has arrested two people and seized a quantity of Class A drugs in Southport.
At about 10.45pm yesterday (Tuesday, 18 April 2017), a Ford Focus car came to the attention of patrols on Neville Street and was stopped on The Promenade.
Officers searched the car and 70 wraps of what is believed to be cocaine were recovered, along with a large quantity of cash.
A 41-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from Southport were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine). They have been taken to a police station in Merseyside to be interviewed.
Officers are continuing to urge anyone with information about drugs activity in their area to get in contact. Officers will listen to all information received and action can be taken to remove the blight of drugs from our communities.
