Mindless vandals have attacked the Pit Stop cafe on the Pier that has only been open a few weeks.

The vandals smashed windows and damaged plug sockets during the night.

Anyone with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Hopefully with the CCTV camera around the place the scroates will get what they deserve.

Can't help thinking this was entirely predictable. A flimsy building in an area deserted at night with no security that replaced a shelter that's been repeatedly vandalised for decades. It was only a matter of time and will happen time and time again unless preventative measures are put in place.

If there is CCTV it will doubtless show people clad head to toe in black with their faces covered.

If you can't stop people getting onto the pier then an overnight security presence is required. The council has its own security force so why aren't they protecting council assets?

What is required are a couple of big lads with German Shepherds. Those caught damaging property could then be given a practical demonstration on Newton's 3rd law.

Why oh why do you still keep reporting this and other bits like it when there will be NEVER anything done about it. The outcome of this report is to wind everyone up. Nothing will be done, no one will "ever" be punished, and I mean punished.....so what's the point.

The Police are powerless, unless as stated someone lets two preferably three ****** big German Shepherds on them and then they act. No one can have anything nowadays what is the point until the "Scum" in every town in the UK, not just here is dealt with....properly!!!!

Eventually, eventually we all will have had enough and other means of dealing with this will be found and nobody will like that!!!!!

I'm glad they are reporting things like this! People are reaching the point where they've had enough...politicians and councillors now need to hear everyone's protests loud and clear.

How would people have had enough and find other ways of dealing with things they knew nothing about if they weren't reported?

Yes - if someone sets the dogs on the vandals, the Police will act - against the dog owner! The vandals will become the poor victims!

If the Police do catch these low life idiots, the only sentence they receive is having to write an essay of apology and a time curfew, the latter they ignore anyway. They should bring back real discipline!

They should bring back national service or strict military boot camps for the scum when convicted, that’s providing they are found

As an ex serviceman, I can tell you that the last thing the regular armed forces need is a bunch of useless scumbags swelling their ranks. They would be unreliable, uncooperative, and a total waste of space. By all means introduce some sort of boot camp, but not at the expense of the professional men and women who actually want to serve their country.

Know nothing about whats going on??? just walk around any town in this country you will see the evidence, don't need to report it. All this so called reporting does is wind everyone up because nothing is done about it.
