    Waterfront Arts Project - Southport's arts & culture lifeline opens new exhibition!

    'With the continuing doubts over the opening, and sustainability, of the new Cultural Centre it is really encouraging that in these days of gloom the Waterfront Arts Project continues to drive forward arts and culture in Southport. Founded in July 2010 by artist and lecturer Tony Wynne, in association with Neptune Developments, the Project has managed to sustain a constant programme of visual culture and performance events. The venue has been visited by nearly 25,000 visitors, many from beyond the North West and a number from outside the UK.



    ‘Rebirth Exhibition’ 28th January - 25th March.
    This new and exciting exhibition is opening at the Waterfront Arts Project. the home of fine art in Southport. The gallery is situated on the ground floor of the Ramada Hotel building on the promenade in Southport. The launch is on Saturday 28th January from 2pm-til-5pm.The new show explores themes of renewed existence, growth, renaissance and revival. The work includes paintings, sculpture, photography and installations by local artists. Also taking part in this exhibition is Norwegian artist Audhill Paus who is exhibiting three paintings.



    The core artist group have many projects planned for 2012, The next Exhibition is 'Conflict' 31 March - 20 May submissions welcome.

    What are the opening hours after 28th January?

    The Waterfront is open seven days a week from 12 - 4pm. It is run by a very dedicated team of volunteer artists and Southport should be very proud of their achievements.

    There are so many negative news stories around at the moment it's great to see something positive happening.
