Back in the day, Great Britain boasted a plethora of successful circuit powerboat racers that competed and won on the World stage.

The names ‘tripped off the tongue’, Spalding, Hill, Percival and Jones to name a few - and Matt Palfreyman from Aughton is a ‘chip off the old block’ from those former British racers.

Taking a gradual progression from racing in the junior classes, Palfreyman moved into F4 as soon as he was old enough and then started to compete in the H2o Racing backed F-4S series in 2010, winning the championship in 2011 and taking the runners up spot in 2012.

Last year, he competed in the UIM F2 World Championship and took the Silver Medal.

His ‘hard charging’ racing style has enthralled spectators, and former circuit racer, John Kendrick, supports Palfreyman’s racing career through his #pepstar project.

Palfreyman’s family are also a huge part of his team, his Mum and Dad tow the UIM F2 Moore hull countless miles across Europe to allow him to compete in the UIM F2 series.
