The emergency services were called to Birkdale beach at approximately 11.40 today after a woman was thrown from a horse and injured. The Southport Rescue Quads took Paramedics out to the scene where she was treated and brought back to shore by the RNLI and then transferred to a waiting ambulance.
The police helicopter was also in attendance.

,
Well done Emergency Services,Rescue Quads,
At least its good to know horses and riders are only allowed on Sefton Beaches on Production of up to date Rider and Horse Insurance Certificate,
Maybe some refund for Council for sending out Rescue will be forthcoming,

What a pathetic comment to make......
Emergency services are there free, for all to use when needed, regardless of insurance or circumstances. One day, you may need those services yourself - I wonder if you'll cough up and pay? No, I thought not.
Hope both rider and horse are ok.
