Merseyside Police can confirm enquiries are underway following the discovery of a man’s body in water in Southport this morning (Monday, 10 December 2018).
Emergency services were called at around 10.10am to Banks Road to a report that the body of a man had been seen in nearby Water.
Officers, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and Coastguards attended and the man was removed from the water and pronounced dead.
At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and inform next of kin.

With all the dignity that things like this deserve, perhaps if it is Adam, then the family could finally get closure. Not the outcome they would want, but at least they would finally know.
