CBeebies performers Justin Fletcher and Mr Bloom are to bring family fun to the floral displays at this year's Southport Flower Show, partnered by Everest.

The children's TV favourites have been confirmed in the line-up for this year's show, which runs over four days in August.

Kids go free at the Southport Flower Show, which has been a fixture in the summer calendar at the seaside resort for over 80 years, and younger visitors are in for a treat at the 2017 show.

Justin Fletcher stars on CBeebies as Mr Tumble in Something Special and also features as himself in Justin's House. He will headline the family show on Saturday 19th August.

Mr Bloom is played by performer Ben Faulks in the CBeebies show Mr Bloom's Nursery and returns to Southport on Sunday 20th August after entertaining audiences at last year's show.

Justin Fletcher said; "This will be my first visit to the Southport Flower Show and I am really looking forward to it! It's such a marvellous event to be part of and I hope to see you all there! Come on down to the Celebrity Theatre. We'll be singing, dancing and having lots of fun!"

Ben Faulks who stars as Mr Bloom said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be doing a show at the Southport Flower Show this year. I’ll be bringing along some special guests for the kids to meet, and we’re going to have loads of fun. It’s also a great way to get kids excited about gardening from a young age, which is a great passion of mine.”

"Families have always enjoyed coming to the Southport Flower Show and this year our line-up of children's entertainment will be better than ever."

Southport Flower Show is the UK's largest independent flower show famous for its fabulous floral displays. The show attracted more than 50,000 visitors last year but it is far more than just a gathering for gardeners.

Justin and Ben will appear in the Celebrity Theatre partnered by Everest Home Improvements, in the Grand Floral marquee.

There is a packed programme of attractions and events for all the family including dog displays and horseback performers.

In previous years, the food village and demonstration kitchen has featured high profile celebrity chefs and famous names from the world of gardening are on hand every year to share their expertise with visitors. This year Christine Walkden, Carol Klein, David Domoney, Matthew Wilson and Professor Stefan Buczacki will offer their tips and advice.

TV presenter and professional ‘upcycler’ Max McMurdo will also share his unique design talents with visitors.

Max starred in 'How to Live Mortgage Free with Sarah Beeney' on Channel 4, and will park up in his mobile workshop inside a converted double decker bus to show guests how they can turn household junk into quirky home treasures.

The theme for this year's show is the 'Curious Garden' with organisers aiming to showcase the sense of wonder and discovery that inspires all gardeners as they unravel the mysteries of the natural world.

The Southport Flower Show takes place at Victoria Park. The 36 acre park is located on the coastline and is a short walk away from Southport town centre.

The show will take place across four days from Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, August 20, 2017.
