Contractors working for Sefton Council have removed the majority of the old red tarmac on Lord Street between Duke Street and Eastbank Street.

Despite the road being closed the traffic is flowing well with only minor delays.

The work is expected to last about six weeks.

That video appeared to be vaguely familiar. Once again where were the faithful gaggle of " concerned locals ", Given the fine sunny weather one would have expected a turn out of thousands,or even just One Local Individual wouldn`t one?

    Another glorious opportunity wasted.

The machinery did not even appear to be of the slightest interest to passers by either.

Another slow news day in this town, it would appear.

Please has anyone found a link to the detours all the buses are making and where temporary stops are in town? Tried Arriva app but couldn't find any information.
    Thanks.

If they are putting black tarmac down - perhaps the local graffiti artists will brighten it up a bit!

The local people have become complacent - labour will always bully to get their own way - they are not concerned about the local area nor the people. If anyone should have been down there on Lord Street, it should have been the Labour councillors crowing over their latest achievement! With any luck they may have been standing downwind from the thick smoke of the tar machine
