Love to know by what criteria they measure 'clean water'. The sea water in Southport is never clean. The beaches are full of black oily mud and other disgusting substances.

I agree 100% with Said. The water at Southport is totally disgusting EVERY day. If you disbelieve this then look at the above picture and go and look for yourself. It is full of solids of goodness knows what and to ingest any of it at any time would necessitate a visit to A&E for immediate treatment.
Who in their right mind could EVER describe it as fit for swimming is insane.
Moreover it is highly likely that the water and the entire beach are heavily contaminated with radioactive waste from Sellafield.

What do you expect water with sand in it to look like?

Clean sand is not a containment and will not ‘muddy’ the water. The other contributors to this post are more concerned about the oil, faeces, and general litter that can be found in the sea. I wouldn’t let my dogs swim in there.

We used a clear container one time and filled it with sea water from Southport, we let the sand etc sink to the bottom. After an hour the water was still brown.

I suggest you find clean sand then dullard. Otherwise how would you get crystal clear bathing water at certain beaches across the world? Oh wait a minute, maybe the authorities install filtration machines and remove all the sand from under the water.

I'm the dullard, yet you think the colour of the sea has to do with the sand. Hmmm

And exactly what colour did I describe? I said the water is crystal clear, ie no colour. If your still having trouble understanding this concept, please reply and I’ll try and simplify things further for you.

You could try simplifying it for me as well,

your reply .........perhaps a little more thinking time needed.
