70 's Pub Licencees.
Anyone recall Tommy Dunne ( Guest House and Hoghton}, Don Standing {Coronation}, Connie {Rabbitt} , Mr Bland [Imperial} Peter Gallagher (Hesketh} , Monica ( Ship) , Jack Critchley ( Sandpiper and Blue Anchor)
Mrs Connor (Bold in Churchtown) amongst others.
Me memories struggling a little with other names.
What I will never forget though is the sheer miserableness and humourless facade of Don Standing.
Great days though.

I rember Chris Connor at the Bold (churchtown) probably the best landlord ever, what a lovely man he was , as teens(underage) we used to sit outside round the back of the Bold and when the the dark and colder nights he opened up a room for us upstairs. we couldn't go in the bar but we had waiter service at the press of a button

I see from the Midweek Visiter that Peter Gallagher has just died aged 78.

I was intending to add this information along with the fact that, if my memory serves me correctly, Tony & Anne Hailwood (Halewood?) were at the Hesketh Arms at one time before taking over at The Mons in Liverpool and later coming back to the town to run the Imperial.

Jeff and Margaret Aughton were also at the Mount for some time and had an interest in the Royal Garrison in Preston, close to Fulwood Barracks.

Then you must have served me with many a pint... Like you (and me) then they had close connections with Crossens.
You'll no doubt then remember Gaynor Halsall, John's missus...? As delightful today as she was then.
