This is a fascinating and quirky account of travels around the area, including a visit to Southport and descriptions of the town and the entertainments available at the time. There are also interesting accounts of Liverpool and the Leeds Liverpool canal, that was a major public transport facility at the time. Lots of anecdotes are included that make this so much more than a dry historical record.
