V interesting. I have several of the drawn type of postcards but none that you have there. Looks like they where a set. Any more???? I can't post any yet as I'm at the limit for this month and I don't want to incur any extra costs from my service provider but will post some more from next month.

You've already posted a good few I've not got. I notice that you do have one of the day nursery. Here are a couple more you may not have seen.

Ex More - you and I have got to meet and go into business together.

Those piccies are absolutely fantastic. I think you may get spots and stripes on some pictures because of the way your scanner pics up the information and the resolution of the image. If you have a decent art package try scanning 1 image at a time and resizing. It's a pain, I know believe me, but the final image is worth it. Sometimes though it's unavioidable unless you have a mega expensive scanner.

I've got the card of the poor boys camp - it amazes my why somebody would want a postcard of that, how times change!

I was wondering whether Mary Willetts nursery finished up as the lost childrens house on Marine Drive. Some of those pictures showed an almost continental looking view of lord st with the open air cafes. Strange how in recent months with the good weather, we now see more and more cafes putting seats outside. The continental touch all over again, strange how things seem to come around again and again. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures thanks very much.

I have never heard of this day nursery before. Maybe someone can tell me more. Like where and when and why?

Like you say it seems odd that anyone would want a postcard with thjose particualr pictures but I wonder if is has something to do with the fact few had camera's. People used postcards to stay in touch. The post was a lot faster in those days too.

I like the idea of someone writing a book too

They're fascinating - I must stop poring over them, I've got to go out and they've made me late! Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed seeing them, and that it seems a strange thing to do, to go to a seaside resort and then put the kids in a day nursery!

    Thanks for posting them.
