Old Southport
Hi, there is a facebook page titled Old Southport pictures and railways, my brother has uploaded 716 photos of old Southport belonging to our father who recently passed away.
He loved Southport and collected everything about it. He always talked about the Norman Wisdom filming in the Southport Hotel, the Noah's Ark fire in the 80's, Police stories of people trying to drive across the Ribble estuary to Blackpool and the closure of the fairground. This collection has been salvaged from his hard drive. I was astonished when I saw what he had on file. He doesn't have the originals so quite how he obtained this collection is a mystery to me. I hope you enjoy them. He would be pleased that they are resting on-line for other Southport Historians to enjoy. Share them far and wide, he would have liked that.
In the meantime i will try and get them uploaded onto here for those who do not use facebook.

Thank you very much.
Why do people never admit to being just the right amount of whelmed?
