Sorry but no idea. The pic is such poor quality that a zoom does not help.

Think it was the Mad Mouse roller coaster and just out of shot to the right would be the Mississippi steamboat.

Presume not the one that's currently ploughing its trade around the Marine Lake?

Postcard from late 1980s early 1990s

I found an old postcard that my father bought about 15 years ago showing the sea bathing lake and surrounding area - it gives a good view of the front before Ocean Plaza.

I was just about to say that those old Edwardian pics have a certain strict charm. One can almost smell the leather... and hear the crack of the whip.
    Has a certain attraction.
Mind you, judging by the saggy lookin' babes on that Pathé film... it's better left to the imagination.

The last aerial photo must have been taken after the pool had closed cos the Marine Lake looks cleaner than the pool...

Possibly, I remember sometime in the 80's, after it had closed as a public pool, it was opened as a rather swish resturant. Had a splendid dinner there with several of my pals... and I do remember some type of light sculpture to the left as one passed through the old entrance gate. That could well be the strange projection you can see in the photograph.
It was a very fine evening, food, vine, location etc. Spot on.
