Rueters on Hoghton (the correct name and spelling) is a town centre establishment that provides excellent food and drink at what are remarkably keen prices, especially in view of its central location.

Reuters is a great place for food or if you just fancy a drink. Great value food, whether you want a meal or just a snack and great atmoshere if just having a drink. They have regular live music which all adds to the enjoyment. Its one of Southports best places to go.

My friends and I have had lunch at Rueters many times and love it!
We always have one of the salads .. I like the Cajun chicken salad one friend likes the salmon and prawn and the other the chicken and bacon. They're not massive portions but plenty of meat and dressing and come with a chunk or two of crusty bread. At just under a fiver they're great value too.
We normally get some chips with garlic and salsa dips as well ... the chips are lovely!
If the sun is shining they have two fabulous outside areas .. one to the front and a courtyard style patio at the rear, a real sun trap!
Only negative is that the staff don't smile very much, always seem a bit off.

Myself my wife & our spinster friend went to Rueters for an evening meal the other Saturday evening. We were warmly welcomed Rob the owner & had a drink in the bar before heading through to the restaurant for our meal. We were given nice bread rolls while we were choosing from the menu. The waiter was very attentive but not hovering while we selected. I had ribs as my starter & they were lush, the girls had pate & soup which they both enjoyed. For mains we all selected steak (2 fillets & a Sirloin) & they were top quality (I used to be a butcher & know a good steak from a bad one) these mains were served with a selection of potatoes, fresh vegetables & a choice of sauces. We ate all our courses in a leisurely manor & the waiter apart from asking if each coarse was to our liking or if we wanted more drinks left us to it which was how we like it. After our meal we declined deserts as we were stuffed & headed into the bar where they had an excellent entertainer Louis Rockefeller singing a variety of songs & involving members of the audience. We had a cracking evening & even the gooseberry with us cracked a smile lol. Will we go back to Rueters?? Most definitely & we would recommend you try this gem of a pub/restaurant as we loved our evening :-)
