Southport FC goalkeeper Tony McMillan has been named as the Blue Square Premier north west player of the year.
McMillan picked up his award at a presentation at the Old Trafford cricket ground with Sandgrounders manager Liam Watson.

The Southport keeper joined the club in 2008 from Burscough and won promotion with Sandgrounders in 2010.

Southport lost 2 - 1 on Tuesday in the Lancashire Co operative Cup against Lancaster City. Jonathan Brown scored Sandgrounders only goal but it wasn’t enough for Liam Watson’s side.
