Signs warning of this work would have been helpful to plan extra time.

Why don't they work through the night! I knew this would happen the state the road has got.

It was well overdue for repair, I drove over that road last week and it was like driving over a ploughed field. Hope they work long hours to finish it quickly.!!!!!!

There was no warning of this at all and so like hundreds of others I got caught in the jam. It was backed up in every direction heading towards preston, all the moss ways too! Ridiculous!

I was an hour late for work this morning! This closure had a knock on effect through to Holmeswood/Bretherton and Croston. It was gridlock!

School Children were stood at bus stops!!

Why was there not better warning about this??
This is a major route, I am so angry with Lancashire Council.....

It's hardly chaos is it? It's only roadworks, that's all!

Now we all know about them, there shouldn't be any excuses for being late. They held my journey up for all of 5 minutes this morning - it was nice sitting in the sunshine, waiting patiently for the lights to change!! Mind you that was 7am - I guess it may have been busier for people who don't have the luxury of an early start!

Catch an earlier bus, perhaps set off 5 minutes earlier - or just accept that sometimes, these things can be a pain in the a**e but are a necessary evil.

Maybe in time the bridge will be replaced and a little bit more character will disappear from our daily lives.

5 mins earlier you are having a laugh! The side road traffic had no chance of getting out.The weight of traffic using that bridge is immense. When the lights went off recently at Tarleton there was chaos too.Just wait until rush hour tonight!!!!
I for one is dictated to by school run times.I will have to take leave from work to cover my late starts and earlier finishes.Who ever ordered these bridgeworks without signage notice is not fit to do their job!!SACK THEM

But when a 40 min journey takes just shy of 3 hours it IS a problem especially when you have to work to certain times!!!!

    EXACTLY!!

But that's common sense, and we don't do common sense in this country.

Where would the extra money come from for the work to be done overnight ?

Its reasonable to assume that this work has been planned and budgeted within LCC's annual roadworks / repairs budget .. so any extra would have to be found from somewhere

more cuts .. or perhaps Council Tax payers ?

You are extremely smug.....lots of people were hours late for work.....nurses...policemen....firemen...prison officers. You would be first to complain if one of these affected your life.
