Grandfather Clock
I have a mid 19th century mahogany cased 8 day, painted dial longcase clock with moon phase with Whittaker of Rawtenstall on the face. circa 1850
I have still got the 2 weights, the pendulum, the key to wind it up and the key to lock the door.
it’s not been going since my father died around 20 years ago.
I would appreciate some advice, should we get it mended then sell or just sell.
please see attachment

Look forward to hearing what you have to say.
Many Thanks

nice clock.
the wide cases get a nickname and have become most undesirable type long case clocks in the antique world after the drum head style.
I personally like them.
The face and face looks in good shape
I presume the two holes in the face are key holes and the clock is an 8 day. Sometimes the wholes are false.
It is best not to have it fixed because if you are not in the antique trade a clock man may charge you more than the clock is worth to fix it.
I could be interested as I have a customer, give me a ring 07714 32 22 52
