Mr Zammat in Manchester always bought Maltese art work.
Well, well, I spoke to him, he seemed a nice enough chap, he was just asking were I got it and for some reason I said I brought it from an Auction a couple of months a go. :S
I then thought why did I say that, but I supose eBay is a Auction in it's own right, just the white lie is the time of when buying it...
He asked me how much I wanted for them and I was quite un certain what to ask for, as I didn't want to sell them for the same price, I wanted to make some profit, but I didn't want to rip the poor man off, what prices would you say they are worth, like what do you sell them to him for ??
I am in the process of emailing him some pictures of the watercolours, and seeing what he thinks, thank you again John, this is greatly appreciated.

ADVANCED............Welcome to the antiques trade
The Zammits are a very respected family in the north west.
I first met his dad George in my early days late 60s when I bought quite a few items and our personalities bonded.
At that time his kids Harry and Mike where only young children. David Dickinson had not even opened a shop in Manchester. This was the days of Arthur Negus the founder of Antiques on TV.
Harry rented a shop off me in the 1980' in Atlanta. Then when I returned to England to restore the ancient manor house of the Halsalls, Halsall Hall. My sales manager went to work for Harry. and then 3 years later I bought his business out because his wife missed England so much I then expanded my business.
It was Harry and Mike that I bought a bedroom suite off for £5000. An amount unheard of in the late 70s to pay for a bed room furniture.
This is how I met Johnny Cash and his beautiful wife June Carter.
He always called her Carter. They bought the bedroom suite for their home and from then onwards we became good friends. He called me THE englishman.
In fact he gave me a part in one of his movies. I was ill on the day and could not attend as an extra. My manager at the time was also English and he went as me and got the roll as a babour in a 7 second roll in " The Hustlers Wife". I think the film name was changed when it went on release. Renamed Baron and the Kid I think. I also hired most of the antique props for that film. At the end of the movie when all the listing came up it stated Thanks to THE Englishman.
Harry has now one of Britain's finest piano outlets selling millions of pounds worth of goods.
all the best.

Thanks for the essay.
Just to let you know I did I nice little buy, brought the grandfather clock movement for £80 and sold it on for £210, so I that was my first deal.
But you stil have not answered my question, what do you think would be a fair price to pay ?
If I was going on Auction prices it would be £300 - £400, but I am not sure what would be fair for such a nice, friendly man that you have described.
But remember this man is a dealer and compared what you paid for them I think a high profit.
£210 each and free shipping may be where the deal may end up.
I did not say these where the price AskArt did..
Well he said how much did I want, I was relecutant to say what, so he said what £200 each?? So I go on and say well how about £500 for the pair, he is getting on the phone to his brother he said and he will get back to me, well I think I will do well to get £450 delivered for both, but I could always see what my local Bonhams think they are worth.
