Yepp - I sit corrected. Best not to type when hot under the collar!
Sod off Derek !!
Go waist somebody else's time, when posting your negative statements, god, I now, know what it is by the way Vanny, it is a Victorian Prayer Chair, I would say £50, sound about right ?
And Derek, you know I mean heirloom*, so stop being such a prat, please refrain your pointless posts, on a antique forum, and keep them for your english class...

I realise that comments on your total inability to use the English language correctly are a complete "waist" of time!
Since Vanny accepts your kidnapping of this forum, which I previously found to be of great interest, this will be the last time I log on to The Antique Spot. This is no longer a forum on antiques, but a list of web addresses that are of little or no interest to the general public. I am at a complete loss to understand why this forum continues in its present grain. But as I said, I will not be logging on again, so I won't see any justification that might be forthcoming in the future.
Age is simply a matter of mind - age doesn't matter if you don't mind

:shakes his head, with disbelief:
Posting pathetic, feeble, comments about one's english speeling, is absurd !!
I feel this forum in formal not formal, and will post however which way, I like, don't be so childish and grow up, I think you should have more important things to do, than ridicule somebodys speeling you loser...
Since, when have you posted, anything in the slightest part antique related ?
Also, since when does websites, not have antiques on them, for me, at the moment dealing in antiques is a hobby at the moment, and really enjoy all the help, I can get, as I am sure Vanny, once understood, starting out in the antiques trade, is not very easy, in fact it is a very hard field to get in to... It doesn't help when trying to get help a irritating snob, corrects you on your spelling over a darn forum site, sort your life out !!
Have you noticed, DerekH, that Vanman/Antiqueman/John hasn't responded to the last umpteen posts by Advanced?
I agree with you--language, both written and spoken, as a communication, is supposed to be understood by a majority--incorrect grammar and spelling tends to put serious readers and prospective clients off.
I would have thought that to be a serious (and successful) dealer in any commodity--as in any professional activity, would necessitate using correct wording and spelling, if only to preclude being laughed at.
"Airlumes"--I thought at first Advanced had discovered some new object!
I will keep watching this site, but until I see that Vanman/Antiqueman/John has given some answers I will not be reading anything.
Advanced's responses to being corrected tells me he is not really willing to learn--and if he doesn't think spelling and grammar details are important, then it doesn't say much for his credibility as an antique dealer.

Just shhhh !
Don't you get it, go post your SPAM, some where else...
I am learning, and at this moment in time, I am doing this as a HOBBY, not for a BUSINESS.
I have said, it once, and I will say it again, this forum is about peple learning about antiques, and to get a valuation on items, not for people, who are petty, an actually try and start a massive debate, about somebody's english, please get your life sorted out !
Also, has Vanman or Briana ever used classy language, this place is in formal, and not, for the like of snobs, up holdng the rightenous of the english dictionary...

Well said Vivra and DerekH. Advanced, you need to take note of these comments. They are for your benefit. I, like many others, including yourself, am interested in antiques and value this forum to learn. However, I find myself being driven away because your posts are not easy to read due to grammar and spelling. Also if you intend to become a respected dealer and businessman you need to respond to people and comments in a more polite, positive, and dignified manner. Please make a little effort, it will pay off in the end.
I for one never pay attention to someones spelling or grammar, I feel it is not related to success or intelligence.
I have a very successful relative that comes from the old school that had a secretary and if you judged him by his grammar and spelling in his emails you would think he was illiterate. He has a Masters degree!
There is a forum I participate in that have a few spelling Nazis' on it, they are very good at spelling and grammar etc.. a few are teachers but many of the people they have lashed out at turned out to be quite successful at business.
I never trust my own so I downloaded the below free software. Just hit download on the left hand side column.
After download all you have to do is hit Tools on your toolbar and hit ispell and it will correct any mistakes in your post. I run all of my posts on the internet before posting through ispell, therefore I have never been at the receiving end of the spelling Nazis'. Easy peasy.
What? Why would you find that offensive? I guess I have been on the forums too long or you have never been on one because it is a very commonly used forumite term.
It is a silly term for a spelling pedantic.
By the way, I wasn't calling anyone here one, just referring to another forum where there has been many discussions over people correcting spelling and grammar of other posters. Therefore the commonly used term of this action. Just have a quick google to see.

Any, term referencing to insulting calling somebdy a Nazi, is absolutely childish, and you have lost all respect for your comments, in my opinion, I will NOT, take advice off an absolute, stiff neck, braggat.
Why, would you be in the slightest part, be interested, about my spelling, maybe because, you have been sacked from your fine english school?
WJS, I believe that you believe what you are saying, I just don't agree, with your fascist opinions...
Now, I will not take advice off you, as I believe, I can spell however which why I like, your opinion, is not appreciated, so this is all I have to say on this petty discussion, in my view, this is all I have to say on the matter...
