Police have issued CCTV images of a man detectives believe could have vital information about an assault on a bus in Liverpool city centre yesterday (Tuesday 11 June).
At around 11.10am, emergency services were called to Queen Square bus station where it was reported a man had been assaulted on the 10b bus by a man with a screwdriver.

The victim sustained puncture wounds to his back and has been taken to hospital. He remains in hospital where his condition is now stable.

CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and any witnesses are urged to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Cheryl Rhodes said: "We believe the man pictured could have information that would assist our enquiries into this shocking incident.
“If you recognise the man pictured and know where he might be, I urge you to contact police so that we can speak to him.”
DCI Rhodes added: “This was a busy time of day, with lots of people coming and going into town at the bus station.
“It would have been shocking to witness for other passengers on the bus, and we appeal to anyone passing who may have seen anything which in hindsight seemed suspicious to contact police.
"We will pursue anyone who recklessly carries or uses weapons on our streets. In this case the victim is recovering in hospital, thanks in large part to the expertise of medical professionals.
“But we know how catastrophic the consequences could have been, and our detectives will act on all information given to bring the offender to justice."

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has any information about the incident is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
