UPDATE - John Pitt - Tetbury - Circa 1820-30 Clock

My research has concluded it is an original John Pitt of Tetbury as if you check out the picture below you will see the same date design and flower design and clock dial / hand design and JNo Pitt Tetbury and in a case the retailer is asking £3.75K...

LINK: JNo Pitt Info Clock Info

Image below on there site, clearly states JNo Pitt...

Now my picture below can you see the similarities?

    vv

So I belive it is John Pitt of Tetbury, because aloso if you go on google images, there is aniother clock for around £2.75K (not a long case) and it says JNo Pitt.

If it is a John Pitt original would it be worth more that £200 John. ?

Thanks, and I am going into my local Bonhams to have it checked out tomorrow...

I am looking into buying a 1820-30 case, do you recon it would be worth doing?

If so have you got any contacts which would be able to supply me a longcase clock for it?

cannot help you with this one.

marrying a case with a movement is much more difficult than you think.

It looks pretty legit to me but hey, maybe it is not I don't know.

I would think the better looking face has in fact been restored.

Some may say over restored. Also it is an 8 day clock face and may be the maker had the face painted better on an 8 day clock than the 30hour clock. Like the touch of gold around the date calendar
