john just wondering if you could have a final look at these vases before i put this one to bed?

i still think they are not tk-max specials..

maybe 20th century but look too old, and too used on the inside to be 20 years old..

    thanks john

i was reading an article on a website that said that chinese export items never really had stamps at all,,unless they are really modern i.e 20 years old,,they would have only used stamps on items that were for the chinese market...

The only items you want with a Japan name on them
is Occupied Japan when USA occupied Japan at the end of the war.. very collectible

Japanese marks are numerous and misleading

It is unusual for Chinese to be interested in anything that is Japanese

    pair of 'c2000 vases'
But if you vases where Chineses and you thought they where 10 years old ... May be they where old.

    any photographs.

i think the vases were chinese ,,going by the decoration,,(cartoon style horses) my opinion is they are about 100 years old maybe 120,,,but to my knowledge very old chinese pots were made out of a redish, orangy clay,,these are more white hard porcelain type...

i have pictures at the top of this thread but i will post them again..

c2000 (that was advanced phrase) he said they looked like they were made in circa 2000.

i'm a bit confused now john to be honest (i might have sold a little gem for 70 pounds,,because at the end of the day no-body knows about chinese porcelain better than the chinese)

just found out it was 2 chinese porcelain collectors (both from china) bidding against each other for the vases

"Circa 1999 20th century" - Vanny's post and not mine, I don't know what they are I just go on the logic that a antiques expert who has been in the trade for over 45 years has a bit more logic of a newbie buying from boot fairs.

At the end of the day it is only his opinion and you opinion so it does not necessary mean either one is right.

"no-body knows about chinese porcelain better than the chinese" You are right.

Now your second group of photographs puts a different light on things.

    I would think about 1920/30s

    If so £50 to £80

very dificult giving advice from a photo.

I will say that the second group of photographs could mislead some one with a LITTLE knowledge into believing they where much older.

    May be a phone buyer.

i know it's difficult giving evaluations from photo's

there's not many antique dealers you can trust.

The first part of the post I agree with

the second part of your post.............well in time you will find out the ones you can trust.

    good luck
please note it is theantiquesman account on qlocal that is now only used, thank you
