    Arrow Info on this please

    http://brighton.gumtree.com/brighton/74/44196174.html

    ^^

Click on the link above please.

It shows it at apparently "old", would this be rare, if it was real, and would it have any commerical value, as I have not seen one before, and I am sure I never will anymore.

Can anyone tell me any information about it?

    Thanks,,,

    Well..

If something seems to good to be true, it normally is... But in this case the pictures may just be good, and he may not know the true value hence the £50 price.

I am not sure though, any other thoughts or opinions.... ?

To day Silver 925 is worth £5 an Ounce.

ask them to tell you the weight.

Remember in other countries English law is not enforced when it come to hall marking silver or gold.

    be careful.

As a piece of art the tea pot/coffee pot/water pot, if made with silver (800) looks a good by.

I am not saying you will get a profit or it is commercial.

I am saying if you like it and can afford £50 buy it.

Indeed, you are correct once again John.

Could you tell me anything about this mispelt Georgian Grandfather Longcase Clock, I was drawed to it as it was Georigan and had a brass dial and was georgian and still hand a working case, and missing a bell (easily replaced) but it's misspellling and not complete may put some people off, could you maybe conjour up a rough auction value, in current state, an value with bell fixed, and fully complete, looks a nice clock, thanks in advance. I may even buy to keep as it loos very stylish. !

is it a definatly a grandfather clock??

how can you tell the difference between a granfather clock and the others,,,,,i.e grandmother clock????(i think)

i dont know much about clocks , i have sold a few but never really touched them because its very easy to get your fingers burnt if your not sure what your doing...

i used to buy pocket watches but quickly found out that there's so many things to think about ,,,,like how much it costs to fix them..

THIS IS the answer to your question.

    Leave it alone.

It is a long case clock. Grandfather clock is like a nick name.

Grandmother clock tend to be under 5ft tall.
If I remember right there is a technical height like 5ft 11ins

I have heard people call them Granddaughter clocks, but they would be under 4ft tall
