Time is ticking on and the team at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are preparing for a big first for them!

Four of their Animal Carers, Emily, Izzy, Louise and Abigail are going to be spending the night, this Wednesday, in one of the outdoor cat pens each. A full twelve hours, this is the first time the charity has done an event like this, and it is due to the confines of lockdown that it has come about.

Due to lockdown & social distancing measures the animal rescue has not been able to run its usual schedule of fundraising events. This has left them with a potential deficit of £20,000.00 for the year and so the team put their heads together to come up with some lockdown safe fundraising plans.

And so the Sleep In was born!

The 4 AC’s volunteered to spend the night, each in their own cat pen to try to raise as much money as they could so they can continue to help all the animals in their care and of course, those who are yet to step through their doors. You can follow all the preparations and updates on the charity’s Facebook page and if you would like to support these girls and Woodlands Animal Sanctuary you can sponsor them on either their website: https://www.woodlandsanimalsanctuary...p-in/?Itemid=0 or through Give as You Live: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/…/o...n-at-woodlands

Woodlands care for around 200 animals, 365 days a year, come hell or high water (and there has been high water!) on their site near Ormskirk in Lancashire, from hedgehogs and horses, to cats and call ducks, guinea pigs to goats and lots in between, this independent registered charity has been saving lives for 15 years and was the result of one family’s goal to save as many ill, unwanted and neglected pets and wild animals as possible. Now a member of ADCH and a regular sight at their veterinary Practice, Rufford Vet Group, this charity is pulling out all the stops to keep their work going during lockdown.

Your support means the world to them and really does make a difference, enabling them to continue what they do best.
