    Made in china
then hard and soft paste porcelain does not come into the scenario.

    They look reproduction to me.

Sorry to say the crazing looks fake.
and the quality of the painting looks atrocious

    My opinion

    £22 sounds OK

I would think in a wholesalers a pair of vases like that would cost £20 + vat

Briana, you and the other one are making me think it'd be a good idea to stop using the 'Click here to see new posts since your last visit' link.

Even more than the free ads forum makes me think that.

Those who click on the chat or news forum icon don't have to scroll past this, you see.

Mindyou, yourself and the other poster have resurrected the antiques forum a teeny bit, even if there are only 3 of you posting.

Well, I can see what you are saying, but I believe a forum site, is meant to be used, and if you use it to much, then there is nothing wrong with this it just makes it more active.

Also it is very exciting to know what John is going to say, because antiques is sometimes a very guessy business to get into, and it is quite intreging to know what John estimate the value of the item we have posted, may be £5 maybe be £5,000...

at this rate we may get skichic interested in antiques.

That will make 4 of us.

But going by the hits there is quite a lot more than the 3 posters skichic insinuated.

I check this forum every day--it is great fun to see what Briana and Advanced come up with, and what John's response is. I am interested in antiques, especially since there are so many "phonies" over here.

One of these days I'm going to post a picture of some stuff I brought with me from England 40-odd years ago (just out of curiosity--though it's probably rubbish!)

I agree, I too check in everyday. Even though many of the items that Advanced and Brianna have enquired about I have no or little interest but I am always delighted to see that new posts have been made.

I happened upon the site by googling antique forum because I had a question about a course I wanted to take and have been hooked ever since. If Advanced and Briana hadn't been posting most days it most probably wouldn't have shown up on Google at all. I believe a forum needs to be active to come up on top of the search. Who knows who will be popping in next!

I like Vivra always look forward to reading John's response. I must admit to really looking forward to John's response when Advanced in essence asked him to give up his day job to search the Bonham auction site for him.

I will continue to look in daily and I for one hope Advanced and Briana keep it up.
