tram conductors ticket dispenser
I have an old tram conductors ticket dispenser. It is cast in aluminium, with a circular wheel on top, not unlike the wheels found on old telephones. The wheel has several finger sized holes in it.Each has the price of the fare printed beside it. eg 1d ,2d ,3d etc all the way uo to 1shilling.
It has a leather strap and a leather back piece. There are also little windows through which data can be seen. The ticket reel is placed inside a clip down housing at the front.
Has anyone seen one of these ? What might it be worth ?

Yes indeed, I remember that type in the 40's and I'm sure they were going quite a bit before then.

Tram ticket machine
I used to travel every weekday by Liverpool tram in that City in 1957 and this type of ticket machine was in use then. It was also used on the buses which replaced the trams. To get an accurate dating might be quite difficult because it may well have started life in the 40's and still been in use in the 60's.
If you wish to sell and have a price in mind e-mail me please. I would be interested.

I would imagine it is worth very little. But for nostalga lovers it is probably priceless. What do you think it is worth?

sheik-yerbouti.......I am sorry for not replying sooner, but my computer at home is down.
The machine you describe is from about 1950. It was used on the last of the trams and also used on the buses
It would be helpfull if you supplied a photograph.
An interesting peice of social history.
If in perfect condition worth about £100
