    has the forum been monopolised?

I have taken the time to glance through the last 20-30-40 threads and I get a feeling that this forum is now monopolised (more or less) by two/three people who simply add www addresses and look for cost-free professional help in running their "sideline" businesses.
Ealier, questions (although not many every day) came from a wide range of sources, and the thread was interesting. That interest seems to be disappearing and the other sources are rapidly drying up. Is that the intention? Because, to be honest, my interest is rapidly on its way out.

    STOP WHINING...

"Discuss antiques and get a free opionion and valuation from famous John C Nolan of King Street Antiques."

We are discussing antiques and getting a free valuation from the famouse John C Nolan, not moaning and starting threads saying "has the forum been monolpised?"... If you don't like me and Briana's post, don't read them simple as that, dont waist your time, our time and John's time, starting stupid posts complaining and whining, post stuff bout antiques not useless posts which waist everyone's time..

If you don't want to talk about antiques and get valuations, I am sorry to say it but this forum isn't the one for you...

If you do on the other hand have a genuine passion for antiques like "the two/three" other people who do, don't be afraid to post something about antiques and not another complaint...

Obviously this is just my 2 cents, before me & Briana this forum seemed to be very inactive, and boring, but now Vanny is helping us with antiques and teaching us, because at the end of the day we have all got to start somewhere, and this is the optimal place for me, if Vanny wants money for this service I will happily pay him and it would be worth every penny.

If John agrees wholeheartedly with you then I agree. This is no longer a forum for me. So be it. Looking forward to John's considered opinion.
But how many other tentative posters bother about clicking on all the internet addresses you seem to fill your posts with?
Most of it could be done via pms to John?
I await John's comments. Or indeed, comments from others who have/have had an interest in this forum.
But having glanced at the number of "views" on the thread over the last six months, I have a feeling that it is falling. Does John keep statistics?

You either love it or hate it, people have declared they like the posts as it keeps up the good activity of the forum and get anxious to know if me and Briana have fond a real bobby dazzler, if you feel this way I think this forum is not the one for you, and if me and Briana pm'ed all our question Vanny would have a full inbox every week, and what would be the point of the forum, if Vanny is happy to help I don't see the problem, I think this is a really time waisting post, and firmly belive this is just making the forum a worse place, not me and Briana's posts about antiques, oh well I can see your point, but surely this opinion "could be done via pms to John"...

Well, I read that three times before I understood where the full stops should have been and got round things like waisting time, me and B... etc.
I stand by what I wrote.
The number of "views" seems to have declined considerably since you two appeared on the scene and while it might give John much more to do and increase the number of posts, it seems to interest fewer and fewer of us.
The statistics seem to show that, anyway.
Let's hear what John and others have to say.

    Hi Derek
I am hiding behind my door, keeping warm.
The whether here is awful, cold and wet and miserable.
what is it like in Norway.

    Back to Antiques Derek

I can only answer the questions the posters post.
If it is just one or two posters then at least one or two people view the site.

By the way 2 Sundays ago on my site I had over 2,200 views

I think that is good. But not in the league of SGB

I can see both sides here.

I agree with Derek, it's really irritating to see the forum monopolised by just two people.

So much so, that I've stopped visiting as often as I used to.

However! The two posters are only doing what the forum is intended for and Antiques man seems happy enough to provide the free service.

    Hi Marilyn

I remember a time the site was monopolised by a lovly lady from Ormskirk.
I wonder if she has stopped doing the car boots.

    Johns Forum

I Have Only Been Involved In This Forum For A Short Time, But I Think It Is A Great Service To Anyone Who Is Thinking Of Selling Or Buying, As There Are Many Sharks Out There.

What irritates me is that everyone must log on to the web addresses that these two quote on every post (often a number of web addresses even) - just to see if the question is of any interest to the reader. But if John is happy with it - so be it. I don't visit often any more either. And the rate is declining fst.

It does not irritate me Derek H

But when I see a list of EBay links I do not spend as much time as I would if the item was pictured within the post.

But at least we have 2 posters and you and Marilyn make at least FOUR.

    Norway, Ireland and England

    It is international at least.

John, You also have another international follower of this fantastically infomative forum. I view at least once a day and find it extremely interesting, especially following the fortunes of Advanced and Briana.
    Keep up the good work.
    Regards, Trevor.
