Police are appealing for information following a collision on the M6 on Friday (March 13th).



We were called shortly after 3.30am to reports a silver Nissan Qashqai had ended up on its roof on the southbound carriageway close to junction 35. No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.

We attended and found the driver, a man aged in his 30s, had suffered minor injuries.

The passenger, a man aged in his 30s, had suffered spinal fractures and remains in hospital.

A 31-year-old man from Aberdeen was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, driving under the influence of drink/drugs, dangerous driving and driving – excess drugs. He has since been released under investigation.

PC Marc Saysell, of the Lancashire Police TacOps Team, said: “This collision left a man with life-changing injuries and we are working hard to establish exactly what occurred.
“If you saw the incident, or saw the Qashqai in the moments before it happened, we would urge you to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
