Grandfather Clocks?
Hi John, I am sorry to bother you again.
How much are reproduction grandfather clocks worth roughly?
For example a reproduction 7ft wooden veneer.
And genuine ones roughly, I know I am being very grey, but I am afraid I cannot elaborate more, as my limited knowledge in this area...
Kind regards mate,
Chris

Very hard to give a price for a real one.
but we will have a go.
(wind by pulling the chain) = 30 hour worth a lot less
8 day (2 key holes on face) only ones people buy
Brass face worth more than painted face. Arch dial is better.
A rolling moon on the face is worth more
Any automator is worth a lot more ( eg. a moving ship or part of an orchestra )
Oak case slim long door short in height but still has a tall base and feet makes it worth more.
Mahogany case has to be not fat or having a Welsh name
a lot of inlay and a swan neck pediment makes it worth more.
City names like Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and of cause London make a clock worth more.
Price wise a pine case long case clock 30 hour painted face in poor condition £250-£280
A Oak country clock 8 day flat top £500 to £800
A City clock tall and magnificent in perfect condition £3500 to £5000
Just a guide . Best to show photograph on your post
I have a customer who is looking for a one hand long slim door oak long case.
please note it is theantiquesman account on qlocal that is now only used, thank you
