Garden guru Nigel Colborn has joined the line-up of top experts at this year’s Southport Flower Show.



The broadcaster and writer is one of Britain’s leading gardening authorities and will share his insight with visitors to Southport for the first time this summer.

Nigel has featured in a series of popular gardening shows including as a former presenter of the BBC’s Gardeners’ World and panellist on Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time.

He travels around the world as a speaker and lecturer on his specialist subject and is a successful author with nine published books on gardening during a 30-year career.

In recent years, Nigel has grown new audiences through an acclaimed online blog and social media channels.

Nigel is a holder of the highest award given by the Royal Horticultural Society - the Victoria Medal of Honour - and he brings his expertise to visitors at Victoria Park in Southport as the show celebrates its 90th anniversary.

He joins a list of gardening experts including Christine Walkden and Matthew Wilson.

Nigel will host two talks plus a question and answer session where visitors will be able to ask his advice for tackling their own particular gardening challenges.

Nigel said: ‘It’s a huge honour to be invited back to Southport after so many years. North-west England has a long tradition of gardening excellence and this fantastic Flower Show gives us all a chance to see the very best of the best.’
