Following the local election results announced at the weekend, West Lancashire Borough Council has no one party in overall political control.
The results show that Labour has 26 seats, Conservative 20, Our West Lancashire 7 and just one Independent.
Jacqui Sinnott-Lacey, Chief Operating Officer of the Council, said: "The elections have brought about a change to the political management structure and with no one party being in overall political control.
"We will be working closely with the party leaders to understand how this might affect the running of the Council which will be agreed at the Council meeting on 19 May."
