One of the borough's oldest residents has marked his 106th birthday!
Bill Snook celebrated recently with residents and staff at Aughton's Springfield Court care home.
Springfield's Elizabeth Wynne told QLocal: "Due to current restrictions, Bill couldn't meet up with his family but he enjoyed a special tea party with fellow residents.
“Friend Mary Roby made him a beautiful dried flower arrangement for his room and he received many gifts and cards.
“He enjoyed music and birthday cake and when asked how he was feeling for reaching such a fantastic age, he just said ‘lucky!’
“He is a big fan of ballroom dancing and enjoys songs and films.
"He also enjoys a chat and a coffee with his friends here and is much loved by everyone.”
