Police, fire and ambulance crews were joined by the North West Air Ambulance following a crash on Wigan Road this evening.
The incident near the Windmill pub saw all three emergency services attend although there waslittle sign of a major accident when QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall took these pictures.
An eye witness in the Co-op store said he'd seen a police personnel carrier, two police vans, an ambulance and a fire engine at the scene with the air ambulance seen circling over the town centre at around 5.30pm.
Despite numerous calls to the Police, NWAA and NWAS PR offices no further information been forthcoming at the time of writing with the LFRS incident page yet to be updated; Roger Blaxall will update the story tomorrow when more information's available.
