Two businessmen have been scouting out the popular Freshfield charity bookshop - which closes at the end of this month - as a potential site for a new town centre Mini Mart.

The Asian men visited the shop last week for a guided tour with manager Tony; plans have yet to be submitted to the borough council.

If you was a cynical thinking person you would think design of the towns business is now around the needs of Edge Hills and not locals.... much more likely is, fill the town with as many students and supporting businesses who are more likely to vote for Labour and strengthen their grip on this part of their Perceived Empire. Anybody daring to criticise on this media is met by an instant rebuttal from foot and mouth err sorry I mean Minority voice and Tower and Steeple hiding behind their sudo names. Pathetic!

ive called a “journalist” out for feeling the need to report this story using the ethnic origin of the men involved when this is NEVER done on any other post. This wouldn’t be the first time Roger has shown his outdated and borderline racist stereotypes. I understand you are from a different age Peter and may not see why this is totally inappropriate - almost like bringing Edge Hill back into a conversation for which it is completely unrelated.

Amazing how some people’s concerns are still about students in the town
