Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a lady was robbed at knifepoint in Burscough.
The incident took place on Liverpool Road North, on the bridge between Mill Lane and Victoria Street at 11.45am last Monday; the woman was walking across the bridge when she was approached by a man wearing a white motorcycle helmet and a light grey top who was carrying a knife and demanded her shopping bag.
She handed it over and a second person, riding a motorbike, pulled up on the bridge, with the first offender jumping on the back before they rode down Mill Lane.
Police are appealing for information, in particular anyone who saw the offenders described.
DS Liz Martin, of Ormskirk Police, said: “We would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and are appealing to any witnesses who saw what happened to help us with finding the offenders.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 01695 566112 or 101 quoting log 0839 of July 12.
