One of the first big decisions in Lancashire's new chief constable's in tray is a decision about the future of Ormskirk police station.
The county's police committee is considering radical plans to buy the Toby Carvery at the Fiveways and amalgamate it with the Burscough Ambulance Station.
Its rationale is that the imminent re-opening of a new look Skem. divisional HQ will see less demands of Ormskirk officers and that their current accommodation might be sold off. Committee members have told new CC Chris Rowley how much more accessible the Toby is and much better placed to respond to emergency shouts in the borough. There is also more than enough room to accommodate colleagues from the cramped ambulance station off Junction Lane.
Student accommodation or conversion into a themed bar and hotel are among the favourites for the current police station once its vacated.
