Announced today by the government £15m of funding to restore nine railway schemes to kickstart reopening and level up local communities.

Sadly the Burscough Curves are not included.

The successful schemes are:

• Aldridge station and line upgrade in Walsall
• The Barrow Hill Line between Sheffield and Chesterfield
• The Ivanhoe Line between Leicester and Burton on Trent
• Meir Station between Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire
• Haxby Station on the York to Scarborough Line
• Reinstating the Fleetwood Railway Line
• Ferryhill Station in County Durham
• The Mid Cornwall Metro, connecting Newquay, Truro and Falmouth
• Devizes Station between Pewsey and Westbury in Wiltshire

The Burscough curves would reopen train services to and from Southport with Preston and Ormskirk.

That's outrageous, all it needs, apparently, is under £2million yet Burscough Curves are ignored. In which case shouldn't the LCC use some of the massive taxation it reaps from us instead of paying 17 senior staff over £100k salary per annum? Transport that benefits taxpayers doesn't seem to be a priority for LCC. We should be told why.
