Wanted man Adam Yusif Bhamji from Bamber Bridge, wanted on recall to prison, has been arrested.

The 38-year-old - sought in connection with an attack in Burscough - was located in a vehicle on the M5 on Saturday afternoon which was stopped by West Mercia Police who arrested Bhamji before he was brought back to Lancashire yesterday.

Bhamji, who also uses the last name Birch, has been returned to prison where he will serve the remainder of his 10 year sentence for aggravated burglary. He has also been bailed in relation to allegations of assault and will be spoken to at a later date in connection with these offences.

Bhamji was located following our media appeals as part of Operation Hunter, which targets some of the county’s most wanted offenders.
