Danielle Louise Marie Mayson posted this heartwarming story on Ormskirk's Community Group FB page yesterday:
My five year old son has been asking for a litter picker and wanting to do litterpicks around Ormskirk to help the environment.
Goodness knows where he's got this from but I couldn't be any more proud of him right now.
We did our first litterpick yesterday evening and filled a Morrisons bag to the brim - it mainly consisted of water bottles, dirty beer cans, coffee cups, plastic lids, plastic bags, a lot of plastic forks, even a bag of potatoes … and more!
Next time, we going to take more bags or a big bin bag; I didn't think we would manage to get a full bag, as you don't see that much rubbish when your walking around but I guess you just don't see it if you ain't looking for it.
He has already asked when can we go again!
Such a 'proud mum' moment!
