Lancashire Constabulary want to recruit 80 new officers to help “keep Lancashire a safe place to live and visit.”

After recently announcing they have met the target set by the Government as part of the Police Uplift Programme, the force will continue to recruit with opportunities for the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship programme.

Launching on 1st March, the Constabulary's looking to recruit 80 new police officers to the force with further recruitment opportunities planned for 2021.

Chief Constable Andy Rhodes said: “The fact that we’ve met our local target is excellent - any extra officers on the streets is good news for us and for Lancashire residents.

“Having met all of the new recruits, I know we’ve been fortunate to attract some fantastic candidates all with different skills and experiences who will be able to make a real difference to our local communities.”

Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, said: “The force has worked hard under difficult circumstances and we continue to be ambitious with our recruitment plans, seeking to recruit the best applicants to reflect and serve our communities.

“I'm really pleased that we have met the target set by Government with vital investment now starting to go back into front line policing.”
