Police and an ambulance attended a two car smash involving a Skoda taxi and BMW this evening at a busy town centre junction.
The accident saw the front of the Skoda estate - driven by a taxi driver from Ormskirk Express Taxis - badly damaged; the BMW 1 Series escaped relatively unscathed.
It happened at the junction of Stanley St. and Moor St. at around 7.15 - Police interviewed witnesses at the scene with the road eventually cleared around two hours later.
It's not thought anyone was badly injured in the incident.

I walk into town on most days and the number traffic light jumpers never ceases to amaze me, some vehicles of all sizes, racing through to Knowsley Rd, on a clear
red light just after the amber. Incredible stupidity and as a pedestrian you have to be very careful of these idiots. We need cameras just like the lights on Hall Lane
junction in Maghull
