Ormskirk Bygone Times third guided history walk took place on Sunday - and is
still managing to pull in good numbers thanks to the support of our local
    followers.

The walk commenced at 11am leaving Coronation Park War Memorial, some brief
history was given about the park itself along with the men & women listed on
    the memorial.

From there we progressed towards the top of Church Street where we
talked about iconic buildings such as the Regal Cinema, the Snigs Foot Brewery,
the Town Hall, and of course the famous Ormesher shop, after which we moved up
to Burscough Street to discuss more timeless buildings such as the Buck I'th
Vine, Knowles House, the Monkey's Nest and of course the Wheatsheaf.

The walk wouldn't be complete without mentioning the Clock Tower and Moor
Street's most criminal loss, the Kings Arms Hotel, along with the Corn Exchange,
Market Row, the Ship Inn and the old theatre which stood to the rear of Clarks
shoe shop. We then enjoy reminiscing about Aughton Street and the iconic Talbot
    Hotel.

We then cut through towards the "Pivvy" cinema to reignite the memories of the
love seats and the many other quirks remembered about this building, followed
by the old Hesfords building and Charles Hesford himself.

And moving back around to Moor Street we enjoyed talking about the Clucas building with the original plaque now resting at the entrance to B&M Bargains, along with the Working Men's Institute, and of course we had to mention the day Jonah the Whale visited the town!

We ended the walk at Victoria Park where we spoke about the existing memorial
and James Ikin Nunnerley, along with the newly installed plaque dedicated to
    William Edward Heaton, VC.

All in all it was a great day with some great feedback received, with twenty
percent of money raised donated to local causes.
