Dozens of buses and coaches have been moved from their old parking place in Burscough to make way for a new £1 millions development by Ormskirk accident management firm, DAMS. (https://directaccident.co.uk/)
The development will see the transformation of a piece of land on the corner of Tollgate Road and Chancel Way with around 150 jobs created in the move from DAMS current base off New Court Way.
Planning permission was granted at a recent borough planning meeting; DAMS was formed in 1996 and assists clients involved in road traffic accidents. Their operations include processing claims and supplying courtesy cars and its new building will have meeting rooms, office space and a depot to house courtesy cars, along with more than 170 parking spaces.
A report submitted with the planning application stated: “The scheme provides a suitable and sustainable employment building that exhibits best practice and respects its context and surroundings.
“The development will deliver much-needed industrial units and will contribute significantly towards the delivery of the Yew Tree Farm site.”
