A police car was damaged and had to be recovered after an incident in Ormskirk's Coronation Park this week.
Our thanks to reader PP for these exclusive photos of the stricken Peugeot 308 patrol car which was rescued from near the skate park; a police PR officer told QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall: "We’d attended to detain a juvenile for criminal damage and the car was damaged when it was manouevering.
"It was not chasing anyone."
Said PP: "The police car had driven on to the skate park itself and hit one of the 'rails' on the floor.
"From what I could see the front bumper was hanging down on the left side and the tyre on that side was punctured too, so presumably the bumper has been hit and cut into the tyre.
"I didn't see it happen, but it was certainly bizarre to see a police car on the skate park. I have no idea what they were doing on there.
"I saw a policeman wave a recovery truck onto the park, the recovery truck driver get out and inspect the vehicle, drive it to his truck with a flat tyre and then drive it up the truck ramp scraping the bumper as he drove on."
