I genuinely can't believe the hypocrisy here after you posted this story just a few days ago:https://ormskirk.qlocal.co.uk/ormski...s-55053447.htm. Yes, I know you've taken Amazon's money for them to advertise on here, but please spare me the hard sell from a company who have done more damage to high streets up and down the country than any other business.

Amazon UK have over 200,000 sellers, mostly businesses in the UK. A lot of which survived with online sales during lockdown.

Amazon do not pay to advertise. These are just good deals.

You really expect me to believe that the adverts for Amazon on the right hand side of EVERY page on here are unpaid? Are you really telling me you're giving them that publicity out of the goodness of your heart? And why don't you instead promote local businesses who could do with the trade after a terrible last two years, instead of adding to Jeff Bezos's billions?

Editor note: My son has a business that helps processes orders for UK businesses who sell online like Amazon and Ebay, and in a few years they have surpassed 100 million orders processed. All UK businesses.

It is not only about shop local. During covid they saw a massive increase in orders from UK businesses.

So Amazon are paying to advertise on here then? And exactly which 'local businesses' are going to benefit from the Black Friday deals you publicised yesterday? You also haven't addressed my original point - on Sunday you posted a story highlighting local businesses refusing to take part in Black Friday "in an attempt to protest against online giants such as Amazon". You then yesterday post another story highlighting Black Friday deals at Amazon. Do you not see the contradiction there?

Amazon do not pay to advertise. Qlocal receives small commissions if anyone purchases from a link which helps towards running a dedicated professional web server for this site. There many other names running black friday deals including many on the high street.

That may be the case, but you said in your original story that Amazon were "...clearly the leader in Black Friday deals". Can you please back that up with evidence, and given that you're benefitting financially from your arrangement with them, how can you speak with any integrity on this?
