Great pictures--looks kind of cold and breezy (looking at the ripples on the water.)
It's been fifty years since I was there--please refresh my memory--what is the white house/building in the last picture?

Vivra Patricia, the last picture in the above post is of the newly refurbished Byng House on the promenade. It is used as a holiday destination by current and past service men and women and their families. It is run by the Royal British Legion and is part funded from the annual poppy appeal. The Fernley monument is in the foreground.
I will post more pics later, but don't know how to put any description with them, any help appreciated.
Mark.

Great!! Thanks for sharing. We always used to call the Cenotaph, The Monument. Is that still the case if so, when did it change?

Good question. I think the Monument (or should that be Monuments?) is the building(s) that are home to the names of the fallen, one on either side of the Cenotaph. I will post pics at a later date, or maybe someone could enlighten further?

Attached photo of one of the Monuments and another showing both with the Cenotaph in between.

The side bits to the Monument are Collonades and the centre an Obelisk.
