How on earth are you 'reminded about homosexuality' every day? I can quite happily pass a rainbow at any time without a constant niggling about homosexuality like some gay earworm. When Pride month is covered on the media, I don't instantly think of sodomy, or whatever else it is that springs into your mind. You must be like a fundamentalist Muslim getting all bomb-y at the sight of tinsel in December.

Albion hasn't said anything about their 'sexual foibles'. He went to a Pride event, which is open to everyone. I'd say there are probably more people that identify as straight at most events. Pride month isn't about ramming anything in any of your orifices, it's a celebration of survival. Some people dress up like it's Halloween, or any other time someone dons fancy dress. It's supposed to be fun. Most folk don't immediately leap to 'don't look a man in the eye while eating a banana' mode.

But most of all, if I was so unutterably sick of being reminded about something that 'makes you squirm', something I 'DON'T want to know' about, I really wouldn't start a thread on it. Nor would I follow that thread, read every post then interpret someone attending a Pride event as revealing a 'sexual foible', and make the effort to remind myself further by contributing an angry post about it. Several times.

I wouldn't even click on the thread. I'd avoid it like the plague. But of course, here you are again, reading about that same thing that makes you 'squirm', when you'd apparently rather be doing anything else. No turmoil there, then.

I was not discussing my own "foibles" or indeed anything about my identity. I just went for an afternoon out, in my experience pride events are a good day out.

Talking arousal, I know that nothing induces a "semi" amongst the conservative right more than a mention of the military, and 16 Air Assault Brigade sent a gay senior officer who was flitting between Armed Forces Day up at the garrison in Colchester and giving speeches at the Pride event.

It isn't and no matter how many bloody rainbow police cars and fire engines will encourage me to think differently. For the thousandth time I don't give a toss about what sexual pleasure they get just that I'm not interested and now Albion has started telling us about his sexual foibles I DON'T want to know !! No inner turmoil no identity struggle just a total non interest in peoples sexual preferences, just go about your life with your gob shut without mincing about major cities to prove a point.

If only people were allowed to! It is natural human behaviour to be able to freely have an opinion - but it now appears that everyone has got to have the same opinion by law. When common sense is exercised, it will be realised that people will never change, no matter what others expect. Even a few years down the line, a few hundred or a few thousand years ahead - nature will always be the same. The natural general population follows in generations, whereas the people in question cannot.

Were still a little mixed up on the sexuality front it appears.

If one believes in evolution then being open minded on sexuality is logic.

It is a very interesting subject if posters are willing to discuss without judging.

Therein lies the problem. Viewed through tbe prism of legality tbere is a world of difference between having and expressing an opinion.
