Tariffs at the moment are set to suit the EU as a whole whether its protecting Spanish orange growers or French farmers they are not set to suit us.
We pay for imports from outside the EU as an average
35.9 % on dairy.
21.1% on sugars and confectionery.
15.5 % on animal products.
10.3% fruit vegetables and plants.
This helps sometimes but mainly hinders our economy, we have little control over them.
The average EU MFN tariff on food is approximately 22%.15 There is significant variation, however, depending on the type of food. Data provided by the UK Trade Policy Observatory show the average tariff for whole milk is 70%, but for low-fat milk it is 36%; beef is subject to a 56% average tariff, but the tariff on poultry is 14%.16
It simply cannot be said that a no deal brexit is instantly bad the point is to balance tariffs and free trade deals to suit us.
We have wasted years already that could have been better spent negotiating new trade deals in our interest.
Clearly the exceptional 70% whole milk tariff keeps our dairy farmers alive but it cannot do anything other than increase prices for the poorer consumer.
It is a poor example in many ways as importing whole milk, effectively driving it past our own farmers whilst they go bust would not be something to be undertaken lightly but the ability to manage our economy for our benefit is surely a prize worth aiming for.
Accepting the country has made a decision to be independent will not go away, despite the obstruction, the delays, the legal challenges, the accusations the vote will not go back in the bottle.
For how long are the anti-democracy extremists to be allowed to fritter away vital time and billions ?

The longer that is taken in delaying the event - the more it will cost the UK in lost revenue. The business sector is anxious to move on, markets don't wait!
I cannot believe that politically minded people have been allowed to delay the issue. If they disagree with the arrangment, then perhaps in the future - if the electorate vote for them - they can change things. Do they doubt that they would be voted for in their constituencies? Why? If they genuinely believe that they are honestly acting for the people, surely it would make them very popular! No! Something is very wrong, disingenuous. This protest is not for the people - it is underhanded, and someone with huge pockets is paying for this stupidity. We can only guess who would stand to benefit the most from it! Oh my, is that uppity brown woman bothering you again? Hasn't she had enough death threats already? Many of them because "she wasn't even born here". Maybe not, but she was born British in 1965 in the colony known as British Guiana (now Guyana) She has a British passport, is that not good enough for you?
Your comments about what you think she deserves don't exactly show you in a good light.

Those tariffs don't currently increase the cost of our food but we will need them for the continued protection of the farmers.the increases will be on products imported from EU, the big one will be on beef and dairy from Side.

If all Sainsburys in Southports competitors have to charge a say 20% premium on their goods to set up in town.
Do you honestly think that wouldn't increase food prices to the people in our town ?

Wow. You are a nasty piece of work.
So let me see, you're a Holocaust denier, you don't believe Jo Cox was murdered, and now you're advocating a woman be tortured and murdered.
Is she not a 'normal white person'?
You show Brexiteers in a really good light.
Racist scum. Isn't there some Alt-Right Reddit page you can haunt?
I can't believe you're allowed to post on here.

I don't suppose anyone will pull you up but;
You show Brexiteers in a really good light.
Racist scum
could you at least target your abusive language.
And before you think I support his comments no I don't.

I love the unintentional irony in your posts lately - it's as if you're not thinking clearly as you've been knocked sideways in the realisation that pinning your hopes on Mr Johnson as PM has been a bad choice on your part.
You object to this ...

The first, you claim there is an implied direct link between the two sentences.
The second, you deny the same.
Laughable.

First of all, he's racist scum. There's no room for interpretation. He's racist scum.
Secondly, I should think you don't support his comments. Political debate, no matter how heated it gets, is one thing. It's harmless. It's interesting. Advocating the torture and murder of a woman who doesn't hold the same views as you is another.
Thirdly, he's misogynistic, homophobic, racist scum.
No, I don't suppose anyone will pull me up, but if they do it's a little hollow considering 'said's' history on here. Rather interesting that you didn't denounce 'said's' post, but did mine, though. Suggesting that a post regarding the torture and murder of someone isn't worthy of comment, but the very mention of 'Brexiteers' has inspired a post about 'abusive language.
If you think my language is 'abusive' then report my post. Gladly be banned if this is the type of forum where suggestions that women should be murdered is tolerated. And he's still here, so it is.

You're quite right, it shouldn't be tolerated. I was going to ban him last night, but for reasons I can't go into, I held fire until this morning. I've now banned him temporarily.

Good!
I reported one of his abusive posts a couple of weeks ago, but nothing happened, so I decided not to post again until he had been dealt with.
At least I'll be able to post again for the time being.
I absolutely abhor racism - my wife is Asian and the only place she has ever been racially abused is the UK. I will not share a forum with people like him.

Don't let racists drive you away. It's important to call them out.
We might all have different, pretty passionate political views, but his views go beyond a mere difference of opinion.
Maybe his enforced absence might make him stop and think.
I doubt it. Imagining sewing women's mouths shut takes an exceptional sort of psychopath.
So sorry your wife has suffered racism. It should never, ever be tolerated.

A quick Google of "Marvin Arbiton" will bring up his posts on the BNP and Patria sites for starters...

The point I was making is about this;
You show Brexiteers in a really good light. Racist Scum.
tars all Brexit voters with the same brush and is no better than his offensive post.
"His" posts are there to be moderated or removed, good.
We invariably disagree over matters Brexit and rub along on other issues but I am not a racist nor do I wish this overarching smear to be used so frivolously like it has been since the referendum vote.
